The New and Improved Warrillow Studio is Open for Business!

If you have moved house in living memory, you will know just how much hard work and stress is involved… but also just how rewarding it can be in the end! We haven’t moved far at all, geographically, but it has still made a world of difference – especially to Warrillow Studio!!

Warrillow Studio is, and has always been, a home-based, independent, handcrafted, millinery business… but now it is bigger and better than before! Still in Kings Heath, in South Birmingham, the transport links are still just as good from Birmingham city centre, Solihull and the M42… but now, for those of you who come by car, there is off-road parking available to you on the driveway – guaranteed!

Inside, the studio is flooded with natural daylight from the patio windows, making sewing, detailed work and colour-matching much easier to do.

Lots of materials to use and take inspiration from!

There is more space now too, so there can be places for up to four people for millinery workshops. This means there is the space for us to host intimate craft parties, whether for birthday parties, hen parties or just for fun with the girls! One popular option for weddings, is for the bride to select a few crafty friends, and to make accessories for the wedding party – a truly personalized option!

The ever-popular Fascinator Making for Beginners workshop (consistently rated 5 Stars in reviews on www.craftcourses.com) will still be running on a regular basis and private tuition is always available, but do keep a look out for new workshops coming soon, including:

  • Making bases for fascinators

  • Hat & fascinator trims – advanced skills

  • Hair vines

  • Birdcage veils & combs

  • Flower crowns

  • Corsages & brooches

  • Pillbox in a day

  • Christmas fascinators

If you are planning on having a fascinator or hat specially made for you, the studio is also much improved for consultations. Again, the light, bright space helps us to select the colours for your headpiece, whether you are having fabric, sinamay straw (my favourite material!), lace, or a selection of the gorgeous Swarovski glass pearls or crystals. The cabinets hold examples of the kinds of designs that you might select – but don’t worry, there are many more behind the scenes to be brought out for you to see too! There is a full-length mirror if you would like to try something on with your full outfit, as well as hand-held mirrors to enable you to see every angle of your creation when you’re wearing it! Appointments to visit the studio are available by request, with both evening and weekend times available too.

How ever, and whenever you would like to visit Warrillow Studio, the welcome will be warm, the kettle will be on and you will leave inspired by the world of millinery!
